Hacienda CDC is a Portland area non-profit organization specializing in Latino and immigrant housing and home ownership. As a student at The Art Institute of Portland I was part of a team that was tasked with designing and developing a new website for Hacienda. The project spanned two school quarters and demanded the real-world application of phased design and development. The team consisted of a project manager, asset manager, designer and developer.
Working with the other team members, the project encompassed both pre-production and production phases, including: information architecture, user-interface design, sitemap, wireframes, design comps, and a new Drupal website with custom theme. The site has much to offer for the community with a complete listing of programs and associated content, an event and class calendar, online event signup and program applications, and advocacy section for blog posts by the executive director.
